Winter MAP Growth Assessments 2021

Winter MAP Growth Assessments 2021

During the month of January, students in grades K-10 are scheduled to take the MAP Reading and Math Growth assessments. Students cannot pass or fail this testIn fact, it is normal for a student to only answer about half the questions correctly. Please do not read questions to your child or help your child answer questions. Doing so will lead to invalid test results. Valid test results provide necessary information for your child’s teachers to measure progress and help them know what your child is ready to learn. MAP Growth test results are especially helpful for teachers this year with the interruptions in learning that may have occurred as a result of the pandemic. For these reasons, Northwest Local School District will continue to administer the MAP Reading and Math Growth assessments to both our in-person and remote learners.

Please note: If your child is currently participating in remote learning, your child’s teacher(s) will administer the assessments virtually. Only assessments administered in person will be used for gifted identification. Remote families who want their child to be considered for gifted identification will need to arrange a time for their child to take these assessments in person, at school. Please contact your child’s Principal to set up a time to take the assessment in person.
